Mid-Jam Update!

Checkpoint!

Hey everyone! Happy holidays, and I hope you're all keeping yourselves safe.

Me and the team have been working really hard on Ohohohoujo-sama!, and I wanted to make a post to thank everyone who's followed this account, or otherwise showed interest in this project. I can't speak for everyone, but it means a lot to me that there are people who are interested in stories like this, even with such a niche premise.

Due to unfortunate personal reasons, I've fallen a bit behind on my writing schedule, and I'm taking today to  make a few scoping cuts. Specifically, there's a few non-essential scenes I'm cutting in the interest of time. (But rest assured, I 100% intend to add at least a few of them back in with a future update to the game. :) )

As far as the rest of the team goes, PJ and Tobi have made great progress with the backgrounds, and Sarah's pulled some really great music to use, as well. Miel's working on finishing the sprites, because she's an angel. Madi's also made a fantastic UI, as seen here, utilizing the ribbon motif from the logo, which collapses when the normal text box isn't in use, and uses SUCH cool buttons...
Without Speck, I would absolutely be panicking rn, bc i can already tell I'm biting off a bit more than I can chew in terms of visuals and ATL...but that was a little bit of the point with this project, because it's something I want to get more comfortable with, too.

All things considered, I feel good about the progress we've all made so far, and I'm so overjoyed to have a team full of people who are so communicative. I feel confident that at the end of December we'll have a fun, festive game for you all to play in the new year.
Thanks again, and I hope you look forward to our silly game.
