So I searched around, and chanced on some EXCELLENT code for modular, comic-style speech bubbles in Ren'py, which will save me a lot of time in terms of figuring out some more experimental aesthetic stuff, and will definitely give me the ability to focus on other ATL stuff in the meantime. 

I posted my pitch doc in the Lemonchan Discord today, and a lot of people said they're looking forward to it- I'm super glad to have hopefully this time I can actually finish this in a month. With the people I'm hoping to bring onboard, I'm sure it will make the process a lot faster. Super excited to release a fun story like this!

As far as the script goes, my surgery actually took a lot more outta me than I realized it, so I've not managed to get the amount I'd LIKE finished, but at the very least I've got an outline ready and nailed down the characters in a way I'm happy with.

As before, I realized I needed some supporting cast, so I decided to include Cerise and Fiona's roommates in the story- who doesn't love a good friendly(?) NPC, after all? Here's some rough designs I've drawn up for them:
